Pet Insurance Comparison Chart

Understand the differences in pet insurance coverage plans

Pet insurance plans vary from company to company. When comparing pet insurance plans, some of the things to examine are:

  • Reimbursement Rates – Percentages can vary from 80% to 100%, after meeting deductibles
  • Deductibles – Plans can have annual deductibles, per incident deductibles or both
  • Policy Limits– Plans may have per incident benefit limits, annual benefit limits, lifetime benefit limits or per diagnosis limits meaning reimbursements are limited by a schedule of benefits and will be capped if expenses exceed these amounts
  • Breed Surcharges – Some plans charge more for specific breeds
  • Increasing Premiums – Some plan premiums increase as your pet gets older
